My Flatmates
First of all thanks to everyone who has responded in one way or another to my blog. Makes me feel like I'm not just talking to myself!
Here are a few photos of my flatmates. Hayely is in the top one. She is in the kitchen as her Sunday routine is to cooks soups and roasts a chicken and then she has meals for the rest of the week. She speaks Spanish and German and works as an account manager for an IT recruitment agency. As I've mentioned she has been very helpful getting me set up with a phone, taking me to the grocery store and constantly giving me directions for where I want to go. Very helpful.
Chloe is the next one down. Sorry about the sideways image. Can't seem to figure out how to turn it. Thought I had it, but guess not, so you get to witness my learning experience. Chloe is packing her boxes as she is moving to Japan this weekend. She has been in London taking photography and after finishing her program has decided to move back to Japan where her parents live. She speaks Japanese, French and English and actually has the most Canadian accent of anyone I've met here because she went to International School in Tokyo and has a French mother. She will be stopping in Uganda on her way back to Japan, as she has been there before and wants to visit again.
Next is Jeri. She is hooked on these numerical puzzles that are in the paper everyday and that is what she is doing here. She works as a Production Assistant for an advertising agency that makes TV commercials. She was stressed out last night as today they were going to be filming some TV celebrities who have a clothing makeover show. She was worried about what to wear as they have a reputation for pointing out people's clothing faux pas.
Last is Tom, the only male until Barton comes back. Tom hasn't been in London very long, just having graduated with a Master's degree in paleontology. He is working in sales for a company that sells seminars to high end companies.
Everyone has been great to live with. It's a quiet, respectful household and I feel quite comfortable here.
For some reason living around them reminds me of the British TV Series "The Office". I guess because they are all young professionals. They also make me wish my kids were here. I think if Bob and the kids came and we lived altogether in a flat it would be quite a bit of fun.
